    Crimson Clover Seeds

    I was so excited to see my open backyard to look like the pictures - having my 1/2 acre to look like these fields. Unfortunately it didn’t and none came up. Maybe it was the weeds that choked them out, not sure. I thought they would be tougher.

Weed competition can absolutely be a factor, especially during the germination and seedling stages. While Crimson Clover is a vigorous grower once established, young seedlings can struggle to compete with existing weeds and grasses for sunlight, moisture, and nutrients. For best results, Crimson Clover should be planted into a well-prepared seedbed with minimal existing vegetation and good seed-to-soil contact. Consistent moisture during germination is important, and planting timing can also play a role. In many areas, Crimson Clover performs best when planted in late summer or fall, allowing it to establish during cooler conditions.
