With its aggressively quick start, germination in just three to five days and growing leaves up to three inches long in just two weeks, Buckwheat is your choice of cover crop to smother those warm-season annual weeds. By creating a quick, dense canopy, weeds are crowded out under its shade and dense competition. In addition, its blooms attract beneficial insects and pollinators. After just six weeks, Buckwheat is ready to be incorporated and its residue breaks down quickly, leaving valuable nutrients for the next crop.

  • • Thrives in cool, moist conditions
  • • Increases vegetable yields as a companion plant by providing phosphorous
