We had to move for work/school but kept our property. I didn't want the garden to go to weeds, so I planted a bag each of the Dry Area Wildflowers and Burst of Bloom seeds and set it to water automatically. I planted late April and literally didn't touch it (or lay eyes on it) until early July. It exceeded my expectations! Some weeds grew, but the flowers did a great job growing and outcompeted most of them. There were so many happy bees and butterflies too!
I purchased 4 different wildflower mixes from Eden Brothers: Singin' the Blues, Pretty in Pink, Power Couple, and Burst of Blooms. It's only the end of May and I'm already very happy with my purchase. I initially purchased 8 lbs and seed and purchased another 4 lbs later. I have planted about 10 lbs in my path (somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 acre), so went fairly heavy on the planting. I have been rewarded! The first flowers to appear were baby blue eyes and California bluebells. Then California poppies and cornflowers. Now, at the end of May, I've got lots of varieties of poppies and cornflowers, wall flowers, and catchfly. Via flowers or leaves using a plant identification app, I've identified 16 varieties so far from my four mixes. I see more and more pollinators in my patch every day and take a walk in it every day to see what new things have opened. I am very happy with my patch and plan on expanding it further this fall. We plowed under sod and then threw seed on top of the soil in January, once it was finally cold. I do not have a green thumb so took the approach of throw it out there and hope it grows. I have not been disappointed.
We started small and planted 1# of seed for a ~1,000 sq. ft. area in 2 drifts for a new meadow at our church in Spring, 2023. Overall, about half of the species were successful, but there was an early drought that lasted a few weeks. With a lot of watering, we had a full flush initially of the Plains Coreopsis and some Cornflowers and Baby's breath. Then the Black-eyed Susans and Orange cosmos came in as the other wild Comos were growing. They reached ~5 feet tall and we had whites, dark pinks, and medium pinks. It was a wonderful display that also attracted dragonflies and many bees. Throughout the season, many passersby commented how nice it looked. If not for the early drought and heat, I am sure we would have had even more species bloom. We look forward to seeing what happens next spring. The seed from Eden Brothers is high quality, and we plan to expand the meadow in 2024.
The seeds may be great if you actually get to use them. I received my order of 5# of seeds leaking from the box. Box was undamaged so bag was torn when packing and squeezing into a small box. Sorry $15 credit doesn't help me to replace $170 worth of seeds!!! Seeds on the chair the mailman left it on, seeds all the way in the house, seeds everywhere I carried the box. I was scared to open the box. I guess that was a waste of my money. I will order from someone that takes the time to make sure the $11.99 in shipping protects 5# of seed to reach me.

Hello Nancy J. Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re very sorry to hear about the condition your order arrived in, as that is certainly not the experience we want for our customers. We understand how frustrating and messy that must have been to deal with. We’re glad we were able to reship your order and appreciate the opportunity to make this right. Your feedback has been shared with our team as we continue to review our packaging processes to help prevent this from happening in the future. As always, we stand by our products and are here to help!
I planted these seeds in my orchard in the fall of 2021. In the spring of '22 many of the annuals bloomed and were gorgeous! However, it is now spring of 2023, and the blue flax bloomed first, then came the orange wallflowers and blue bachelors buttons, and now many red and orange poppies, gloriosa daisies, blanket flowers, and black eyed Susans are blooming abundantly! I absolutely adore this wildflower mix, and it is perfect for an orchard or any place where you want abundant blooms every spring with low maintenance!
I absolutely loved this wildflower mix, it brought me pure happiness to see it bloom from seed, but about 6 of the varieties listed did not show up. I would still buy this again.
I just built a new home in Ohio and could not wait to plant my wildflowers. Unfortunately the weather and the excavator's backuped schedule made me wait until late July to plant. Everything I read, family and friends all said "NO" don't plant until Fall, it's too late. I am very stubborn and hand broadcast these seeds mixed with all perennial over 5,000 sq ft of ground. Then I did my best to mimic spring rains and watered, watered, watered. Within 2 weeks I had visible plants and I had flowers within the month. They came in well and filled the field with a spectacular field of color (wish I could post a pic). I found myself sitting and admiring them more than I should, keeping me from other landscape tasks. I have butterflies, bees and other wildlife everywhere I look. Today I had a flock of bluebirds scouting for spring! I can't wait for next year when I can add paths and benches. Has anyone tossed more seed into their wildlife garden in the fall in anticipation of spring?
Absolutely love this wild flower mix. We got flowers the very first year we planted. Looking forward to see what next year brings. We will be ordering from this company again, thank you for making sure your seed is great quality.
I just planted them 3 days ago in a border area and they have already germinated. I was worried that they would wash away in this torrential rain we are getting, but I was happy to see little shoots. Can't wait for flowers!
I added 10 lbs of the Burst of Bloom Mix to a CRP planting in 2016 using CP25 mix. Planted over 6 acres. First year was amazing with the annuals blooming all summer. Second year looks just as wonderful so far with many perennials growing and blooming. All of the neighbors want to plant it in their fields. The bees and butterflies love the plot. Best money I have ever spent on seeds.
I used these seeds in 'seed bombs' that I made out of clay/compost. Rolled in marble sized little balls to be tossed in a meadow where I want wild flowers. So - they haven't even germinated yet but will in the spring.
Planted these last year and had a beautiful wildflower garden first try...great fun... so got more this year for me and some for my daughter/ granddaughter. They are all up already, just a few days!!! Great product and service. What I learned...must have a full days sun... must have water every day....must be planted densely... must cover with a little soil, then water. I bought a little extra seed and experimented some, at planting time you kick yourself if you did not get enough seed. You must have clear dirt to plant in. I found some fertilizer helps when flowering, kind of gives them a kick when it is needed. Thank you for a good product and helping me learn a new hobby.
The seeds arrived quickly, with a brochure that had some good planting tips such as mixing sand with the seeds to make scattering them easier. I used an empty plastic Miracle Gro fertilizer bottle without the cap. The handle on the side made shaking the seed and sand mix out very easy. I tried using the cap with its flip down dispenser, but the seeds did not flow through the smallish opening. A lot of the seeds have already sprouted.
