New wildflower seed mixes are easy to grow and maintain
Growing wildflower seed mixes is one of the easiest and fastest ways to grow flowers from seed. Most wildflowers need full sun to thrive, so choose a planting location that gets at least six hours of sun a day. Wildflowers thrive in the poorest soils, so as long as the site has good drainage the soil shouldn’t have to be amended.
Scatter the wildflower seeds over bare ground and gently push the seeds into the soil. Water the area lightly and watch for your wildflower seeds to sprout!
Water your wildflowers during periods of drought and weed out any plants that are choking them out. Otherwise, wildflower seeds are drought tolerant, deer resistant, and require very little maintenance. Learn more in our Gardening 101 resource center.
