Store owner replied: Hello Trying my hardest! Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as feedback like this helps us improve our products and planting instructions! In your cooler planting zone, it’s generally better to plant hosta roots in spring rather than late fall because hostas need time to establish strong root systems before winter sets in. A spring planting gives them the entire growing season to settle in, build energy, and prepare for dormancy .From our follow-up with Customer Service, it looks like we were able to assist you, and we’re glad we could help. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention!

I ordered these late Fall 2024, and they arrived with healthy roots and a bit of green. I planted them in pots and they got what I thought of as "healthy winter growth" (zone 10a). But then they shriveled up & disappeared. I thought they had died and wasn't sure what I had done. So glad I didn't toss them! About a month ago (early May?) new growth started appearing and it looks quite healthy! I am looking forward to seeing what they do through the summer. Another lesson in patience as I get to know plants.

Disappointed - I’m in zone 7 and I ordered and planted 10 of these last fall in my partial shade backyard - it’s now June and I’ve only seen four of them sprout, but not continue growing. And no sign of life from the other six.
