The best cut flower bulbs for homemade bouquets
If you’re a cut flower connoisseur, there’s never been a better time to grow your own. The ideal cut flower is one that’s huge. Check! Extremely fragrant. Check! And one that is the most vibrant color you’ve ever seen. Check!
At Eden Brothers, we care about your garden and your wallet, so we always source the highest quality bulbs from our suppliers and keep them affordable for the everyday gardener. Our goal is to exceed your expectations and make your cut flower dreams a reality. We take all of the guesswork out of planting–we wait to ship your bulbs to you until the appropriate dates for your growing zone, so you know exactly when to plant your bulbs.
Cut flower bulbs are the easiest flowers to grow
Growing gorgeous flowers doesn’t have to be difficult! Bulbs are the quickest and easiest way to grow cut flowers at home, and since bulbs require such little space they are perfect for raised beds and container gardens.
Planting bulbs in the ground is so simple–it’s a perfect activity for children, so involve the whole family on planting day! A good rule of (green) thumb is to plant a bulb three times as deep as the bulb is tall. Pop bulbs into your garden individually or plant them in groups for swathes of color that are sure to attract pollinators to your garden.
The most extensive collection of cut flower bulbs
Our extensive collection of cut flower bulbs contains spring and fall-planted varieties for continuous blooming all season long. Many cut flower bulbs like daffodils and tulips can be grown as perennials in most regions, but other bulbs, including dahlias and ranunculus, do best when grown as annuals in colder hardiness zones.
Plant daffodils and hyacinths in fall for fragrant flowers in early spring. Pair these lovely stems with tulips and anemones for exquisitely beautiful arrangements from spring until almost summer. Bridge the gap between tulips and summer annuals with Papaver Orientale, a fall-planted beauty that blooms in papery shades of pink and red, leaving behind adorable seed pods that add texture to bouquets.
If you’ve always wanted a peony garden, now is the time to plant peony roots! Some peonies take three years to bloom, so make the investment now to reap the rewards of these long-lived, classic blooms later. While you’re waiting for your peonies to mature, plant Ranunculus Bridal Mix or Marshmallow—these soft multi-petaled flowers will remind you of peonies, but these gems bloom in their first year!
No cutting garden is complete without a row (or more) of dahlias, and we have every color imaginable. There’s something for every taste, from the anemone-flowered Totally Tangerine to the peachy ball-shaped Cornel Bronze to the blush-toned dinnerplate Break Out. Tuck dahlia bulbs into the ground in late spring after all danger of frost. Pinch dahlia seedlings when young and cut them hard–the more you harvest dahlias, the more they produce!
If you’ve ever wanted to be a cut flower farmer, this is your sign. We source the highest-quality bulbs so that you can be successful in your gardening endeavors. Don’t delay on your bulb order–snag your favorite varieties before they sell out. This is your year to have the garden of your dreams! And then bring it indoors to decorate every room.
