In late spring, it produces large, flat flower heads that transition beautifully from salmon pink to creamy yellow, lasting through early summer. Ideal as a groundcover or accent plant, it also serves as an excellent nectar source for butterflies and pollinators. Deer tend to leave it alone, and it thrives in containers or as a border plant.

    I started these too late last year to blooms but got lots of foliage. I literally did nothing to them to protect or take care of over the winter (zone 7), and they are thriving. It’s important to note that you have to cold stratify these seeds ahead of time if you want blooms in spring. Seeds had a great germination rate.
