Customer photo review of Sunflower Seeds - Italian White

I've been growing this sunflower for a few years in a spot by the street that is generally dry, sandy, and likely full of salt. It comes up reliably from seed, grows tall and branching with abundant flowers, and attracts bumblebees and butterflies.

None of mine germinated. Sewn outdoors with other sunflowers that did germinate.

This packet came with the most seeds of any variety I purchased from Eden Brothers, which is good because the germination rate was pretty low. I started some seeds indoors and direct sowed some, and starting them indoors then transplanting had a much higher success rate for me. It was 63 days from planting to first flower, but each plant has multiple flowers which I expect to enjoy for some time to come. In addition to the poor germination rate, one star has to be removed from the review because the flowers are definitely not white. They are a bright and vibrant pale yellow. I still enjoy them a lot, but they are not white and will fulfil a different role in my bouquets that I was expecting. Overall, I am enjoying these happy little sunflowers.
