I ordered these seeds and thankfully chatted with a neighbor before seeding them out. Eden Brothers should not have allowed this order to Washington state where Clary Sage is prohibited as it escapes cultivation and displaces native plants. Now I'm out my money and have to dispose of the seeds too. Very disappointed.
Store owner replied: Hello PNWGal. Thank you for your review. We understand your disappointment and apologize for the frustration this situation caused! Clary Sage is considered invasive or restricted in certain areas, including parts of Washington, due to its ability to escape cultivation and compete with native plant species. We appreciate your diligence in researching the variety before planting and bringing this concern to our attention. We have already issued a refund for this purchase and are glad we were able to resolve that portion of the issue. We also want you to know that we are currently implementing a company-wide initiative to better identify restricted and prohibited varieties on our product pages and to prevent shipment of those items into states where they are not permitted. Customer feedback like yours plays an important role in helping us improve these safeguards. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention and for helping us continue to improve our catalog and customer experience!
