    We had a very mild spring in Indiana this year. No night temperature drops below 45. I started these off in containers to make sure they were viable at the beginning of April Four of five grew which is pretty good for my experience with dormant astilbe. All 4 are growing nicely since transferring to my shade garden in May. It's a little disappointing that 1 root didn't take off though as these are a little pricier than other sellers' astilbe.

    Rated for how many of these roots actually turned c into a plant. I planted my entire order per instruction and everything came up nicely but the astilbe. I have one plant growing well and the rest didn’t come up unfortunately. I’ve always had success with Eden brothers plants and was very excited about these but seem to have gotten a bad batch.

    I ordered 10 bulbs the 3rd week of April. I live in the Colorado Rockies and we have had a very WET and COLD time of it this spring. For example, today is June 16th and the high will be 45° and raining all day. I sat the bulbs aside when they arrived and then I forgot about them for a MONTH! When I remembered, I quickly opened the bags that had been sitting on the kitchen table and they were all SPROUTING! So I planted them under the edge of our front deck in front of a catio I have under there. I ran drippers to each plant and mulched. They are all growing really well. I don't know how long it takes for them to reach full growth, but right now I am pleased.
