Planted these in zone 4-5 this spring and nothing grew. I do have clay soil that I've been amending but I cant recommend these. If you are a super experienced gardener with great conditions you may have better luck.

Store owner replied: Hello Dx. We appreciate you sharing your growing experience with this variety. We are sorry to hear that your Royal Carpet Sweet Alyssum did not germinate. We understand how discouraging it is when you've taken the time to improve your soil and still don't see the results you were hoping for. Sweet alyssum seeds are very small and perform best when sown on the soil surface or only lightly pressed into the soil, as they need light to germinate. Consistent moisture during germination is also important, and even amended clay soils can sometimes retain excess moisture or develop a surface crust that makes it difficult for tiny seedlings to emerge. Under favorable conditions, sweet alyssum is generally easy to grow and establishes quickly. We are grateful we had the opportunity to help. We stand behind our products and appreciate the chance to support you on your gardening journey!

Really looked forward to these blooming, but we only saw the greenery. They never bloomed. Ordered more seeds and planted them in another spot and they did nothing. We would love to try these again, but they just will not bloom.

We followed all the instructions for planting in our partial shade front yard plot, and watered daily, but after an impressive and rapid germination rate, there was no survival. Sadly, I mistook the encroaching crabgrass for the hoped-for alyssum seedlings, so I was watering baby crabgrass for a few weeks. . Zero blooms, lost of misplaced hope. Would love a refund for the quarter pound of seeds I labored over for months so fruitlessly.
