Although all irises are beautiful, the Black Flowered Siberian irises are perhaps one of the most elegant and striking in our inventory. These velvety, deep purple blooms look almost black, especially when not in direct sunlight. They can be cut and used in bouquets or kept in the garden for a truly stunning effect.

I planted this in spring 2022 and it finally bloomed for me today, 4 years later. It is not black, but a blue iris with a yellow/cream spot with veining. I feel skeptical about the quality of root I received and disappointed that it was not the product I purchased after the long wait.

I bought these in 2019. They were healthy, but they are not at all like described in the listing. It is not the same flower, and it is not at all black. See picture for yourselves. Nice flower, but I would not have purchased those knowingly. I wanted something unique and this is not it. Very poor business practice!!
I ordered and planted these in 2022, this season (2024) was the first time they bloomed and they looked nothing like the picture, they are clearly purple with white marking, and a completely different shaped bloom. They are pretty, but if a true picture had been used, I would not have purchased them.

I planted mine in 2022 and the bloomed this spring 2024. They are pretty but they are not black, just dark purple with white/green/purple toward the center.

They grow, they’re pretty, but they disappoint being blue. Was very excited to see the bulbs coming up this spring, only to find out they were blue once bloomed.

These aren't Siberian Iris. The photo here is a typical nursery exaggeration just like they do with most blue flowers, too. #typical.

Ordered this in January/February and received them shortly after. I kept them in the bag and box they came in and just set them in the garage. Checked on them this past week (middle of march) and found that there was growth on 3 out of 4! I went ahead and planted them in pots and am going to keep them in the window for another month or so as I don’t want to put them outside and kill the roots since it’s still snowing here. Very excited to see how these turn out - pending me keeping them alive!
I’ve been plants from Eden Brothers for several years now and always loved the result.
…not with this Siberian Black Iris I purchased last fall.
Have been growing Siberian and German Bearded Irises for 20+ years. I was very excited to add this unique variety to my garden. But unfortunately, this was the ONLY iris specimen I ever grew that did not produce a single living plant. None of them came back this spring either.
Very disappointed.
