    this year's seed was not red cherry. however, its nov 11 and it still is covered in bloom. not a bad mix, just not what i was expecting.

    I started these indoors in April under a grow light, then moved the plants outside mid to late May. I live in zone 6a. I'm new to growing from seed, and these marigolds were extremely forgiving and very rewarding. If you're looking for a starter option, these are great. I have had near 100% germination, great growth, and very healthy plants. My only complaint (and it's unfortunately a big one) is that these are nothing like the color in the photo. Most of my blooms are mostly or completely yellow, with flecks of red/orange. Only two blooms have been mostly red/orange out of the 12 I've grown so far. These are good, healthy seeds and they're a great option for new gardeners, but the pictured color is unfortunately not a reality.

    first year trying red cherry. great germination, great compact growth, early bloom. plants are loaded with bud and bloom. seeded in early april, ready now june 1. one ounce provided 1300 plants without being conservative with the seed. color is initially very red, then oranges blend in from the center. overall very attractive plant and color. i will add this to my staple marigolds. this year trying tangerine, bolero again, moonlight, all from eden,and durango mix (not eden seed)
