I bought a lot of these, and I mean a lot. Squirrels dug up most of them. The ones that survived are beautiful. I’ll be getting more but adding something to prevent the squirrels.

This is the first time ever I grow ranunculus. The corms arrived fast. I called and asked to expedite as spring where I live starts in February. My general conclusion for my usda zone to plant them in fall only. I planted it same day as I received straight into the soil. They all came out! As of today, May 2nd few of the plants produced bulbs and one of them opened today (red, see photo). However, I was disappointed to see instead of a full buttercup of petals as shown in website photos, just a thin rim of petals. Fullness of ranunculus it’s the signature of the flower, so not heaving it was a disappointment.

Most of the ranunculus from this mix were single-layer bloomers and did not look like the photo whatsoever. The flowers that did bloom almost looked like Butterfly ranunculus instead of the buttercup/romance version. I did not take photos because I was so disappointed in how they grew. I ordered some more from another company and followed the exact same care and planting method, and in the same flower bed, and those turned out beautifully, so I don't think it was an error on my end.

I was so excited for these flowers, then when they finally began to emerge, they started to be eaten by the deer in the area despite being advertised as deer resistant. They are listed as "full sun" yet the ones that didn't get eaten quickly withered and died in the sun, despite ample watering. Even the ones in partial shade didn't fair too well and the leaves turned yellow. Very disappointing.

I would highly recommend fall planting on these beauties. I planted these in my front yard and am so pleased with the beautiful jewel tones I got.

easy to plant; then just water and wait for the beautiful blooms.

All of my corms sprouted and bloomed. But overall disappointed. Many are single layer and not multi layered as pictured. Blooms are small (2-3in), not large blooms as in the photos.
