Lots of healthy purple coneflowers blooming this year! I did notice greenery first year on new seedlings and now this summer they are blooming profusely! Some in full sun in my backyard and some in front yard with partial shade/morning sun only. Goldfinches have been frequent visitors:)

These coneflowers germinated easily and I was able to share a few starts with friends. Looking forward to seeing these again next season!

Very poor germination. Roughly a third sprouted, would not recommend.

I have several very healthy plants going. Time will tell on the bloom color, but I expect these will do well as they are holding up to Oklahoma's extreme weather nicely w/o any issues.

It takes 2 years to get blossoms from this plant started from seed. To those of you who reviewed it and said they only got grasses the first year....congratulations you have them started!

This is a beautiful plant. I have had a bit of difficulty growing it from seed by direct sowing. I only got one plant out of six seeds sown last year. It could be my error or poor soil. I am very pleased with the plant I did get. It is pushing five feet tall with a few beautiful bright purple/pink blooms and many more to come. I saw my first butterfly on it. Hope to get more plants to grow.
