started these indoors in late winter 2024, they grew all year 2025 and now, early spring 2026, after a hard nasty winter we have blooms!

I wanted to add another photo of the blooms as more opened. Everyone loved this flower!

I did have all ten seeds sprout. Over the past year, all but one died. Most died after a few months. Maybe from changes in growing conditions as I moved the pots outside. But one remained alive when I brought my plants inside for the winter. This poor plant was hidden behind a taller plant in the rack and I missed watering it. However, it is still alive and even produced flowers! The first flower was not even close in color to the advertised flower. But the next two are pretty close! It has more leaves and flowers coming!

The germination rate is around 60-70%. Once these seeds germinated, they stopped growing or grew very slowly. Then, they stayed the same size and eventually died one by one. I placed them in partial sun, watered them daily, and added slow-release fertilizer to the soil. I followed the instructions on this website. I’m not sure what the problem is.

I am shocked at how little seeds you get for $5.95. I bought 2 packets and dumped them on a plate. There’s not a lot there…… Sure hope they germinate well for that price. If I would’ve known how few seeds I was getting, I never would’ve ordered them. Wow.

I started these plenty early indoors. After a month, I have not had any germination. I have been gardening from seed for 10+ years and I am disappointed in this product.

    Primrose Seeds - Blue Zebra

Store owner replied: Hello Amber. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re sorry to hear that germination has not occurred, especially after your many years of seed-starting experience! Primrose seeds can sometimes be particular about germination conditions and often benefit from cool temperatures, light exposure, and occasionally a short period of cold moist stratification to encourage sprouting. We’re glad we were able to provide a resolution and appreciate you giving them a try. Please feel free to reach out anytime, as we’re always here to help!

We didn't have any success. Got a few seeds to grow but they didn't survive hardening off.

Soak the seeds for 24 hours in water, then put them in a wet paper towel or coffee filter, and put the towel/filter in a ziploc bag in your refrigerator for about a month. After a month, plant the seeds in some sterile seedling mix and cover them very lightly--they need light to germinate. Use a spray bottle of water to keep the seeds moist. I put Saran Wrap over the pots to keep moisture in, but allow light to get through.

These took so long to germinate that I thought they had failed. Even tucked a tomato seedlings from thinning into a cell. The. Finally maybe 10-12 weeks after planting I got 1 tiny seefling. Ended up with 5 out of the whole packet planted (there weren't many seeds can't remember the exact number. They are about an inch tall now in late may and I am going to plant them out under my Alder tree soon in view of my office window.

Despite all the other comments about the price for the seeds and poor germination, i still fell for these beauties. I haven't had any success sprouting these. I have been gardening and growing from seed for 10+ years.

I think I recieved 8 of these zebra primrose seeds, unfortunately none germinated. Having about 50% success with the Danova mix variety. I guess primrose are difficult to germinate.
