I planted by direct sow in January and they bloomed in June ( zone 7b). Absolutely stunning. The color is so unique.

Seed germinated easily and plants grew as expected. However, when they bloomed there were a fair number of lavender and white blooms and the red ones were much more orange red than pictured. I don’t mind as I am growing them for the seed heads to use in my craft projects, but for someone growing for the color, might be disappointing.

I was so excited to receive these. I stratified them in the refrigerator to give them the best chance. I only had one seedling pop up and the rest failed to germinate! I planned a whole flowerbed around these pretty poppies and now I need to pivot and buy something else to get in the ground asap ðŸ˜

I bought so many packets of this seed and tried them in spring, fall, in flats, in prepared beds, and never got one to germinate. If anyone can get flowers to grow, its me, and I have wasted my precious time and money on flowers that will never grow. If I can get Himalayan poppies to grow, then I should be able to grow any other poppies, but no. I get the message and will not try these again.

Had good germination by scattering seed into a pot in early April (NE Oklahoma) -- no cold stratification. Seedlings are healthy now at the end of May
