Semi-double, velvety, dark, mahogany-red blooms are the showpieces of Buckeye Belle Peony. Held firmly on sturdy stems, these stunning blossoms are ideal for cutting, maintaining their beauty in arrangements. The deep and versatile color of Buckeye Belle blends beautifully with both contrasting and complementary spring bulbs, making it a versatile addition to the garden. Its glisten and polish is unusual in such a dark flower. An heirloom perennial, it epitomizes the enduring charm of classic garden favorites.

Like another reviewer, I planted three of these plants in the fall two years ago, only to have two of them flower this year (the third didn't make it through 2025) and look completely wrong. Yes, they're still beautiful but I was so excited about the uniqueness of the Buckeye Belle and I have another 5 peonies that produce flowers similar to this.

Hello Kelly. Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that your peonies did not bloom true to the Buckeye Belle variety we were both were expecting! We understand how disappointing that must be, particularly when you chose this variety for its unique appearance. We are glad we were able to connect with you directly and provide a resolution. Thanks to reports from customers like you, we identified a small batch that was affected by a varietal mix-up and have since worked with our grower to correct the issue. We appreciate your patience, your feedback, and the opportunity to make things right. Your input helps us continue improving the quality of our products!
Have lovingly tended since 2024, same issue as the below reviewer. Not a buckeye belle, not even close, though it is pretty. Reached out to Eden Bros to let them know. Bummer, it’s my first Peony!

Hello Lynnly Damm. Thank you for your review, and we are sorry to hear that your peony did not bloom true to the variety we both expected. We understand how disappointing it is to wait for a peony's first bloom only to discover that it appears to be a different variety. While we're glad to hear you still found the flower beautiful, we know that receiving the correct variety is important. We are pleased that we were able to connect with you directly and provide a resolution that you were satisfied with. Customer feedback like yours is invaluable, as it helps us monitor varietal accuracy and work closely with our growers and suppliers to maintain the quality standards we strive for. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and for giving us the opportunity to make things right!
Planted these 2 years ago and didn’t t get any blooms last year, and this is what bloomed. Not even close to the correct flower! The second one hasn’t bloomed yet, maybe it will be correct.

Hello Allison. Thank you for sharing your experience and photo of your peony. We understand how disappointing it is to wait two years for blooms only to have the flower appear different from the expected variety. Peonies can take a few seasons to fully establish and bloom after planting, but the bloom shown does not appear consistent with the deep red flowers typical of Buckeye Belle. Occasionally, mix-ups can happen during harvesting or packing at the grower level, especially with dormant bare roots that cannot be visually identified before blooming. We have reached out to our grower and solved this issue, and it was a very small batch that was mislabeled. We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention and again are sorry this happened with yours! Since we have not yet heard back from you, please feel free to respond to our original email, or contact our customer service team, so we can work toward a resolution. We always stand behind our products and genuinely want you to have success and enjoyment in your garden for seasons to come!

It's been on the ground for a week since it arrived, and it's growing incredibly fast. I totally recommend it in terms of growth and transport. As for the color, I'll know it's 100% true to life for a few years.
I bought 3 roots 10/24/24 and planted according to instructions. They look like tiny sticks still with only a couple of leaves and have never given blooms. Don’t waste your money. Buy peonies through Costco because they are large and beautiful comparing to these expensive twigs. The photos online are probably A.I.

Hello Taylor R. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out about your experience. It’s great to hear that you prefer to wait a little longer to see how your Peony Roots - Buckeye Belle does. They can take 3–6 weeks to sprout in spring. Cool soil, planting depth, and moisture all affect timing. In cooler areas, they may not appear right away. Certainly keep us updated! If this variety does not produce well for you, reach back out to us if needed. We appreciate you reaching out!

I put this peony in the perfect sunny spot, but it never came up. I think it must have rotted because I could not find the root anywhere around the area. This was the only peony out of 10 that I planted that didn’t sprout.
