I purchased these bare-root peonies in the US to bring back with me on an international flight, and they are incredibly resilient!
To keep the roots healthy and dormant before travel, I kept them in the fridge for 2 days. For the long international flight, I packed them safely inside an open lid box in my carry-on bag so they wouldn't get crushed or overheated. They survived the journey with zero issues.
As soon as I arrived at my destination, I planted the roots directly into the ground. They are settling in beautifully. If you are looking for high-quality, tough peony roots that can easily handle international travel and transplanting, I highly recommend buying from here!
Out of the four roots, only one took. Well two did but ultimately it didn’t get past a few inches last year. The one that made it actually bloomed this year and I was expecting a big full globe. While it is still gorgeous, I was surprised to see the garden variety instead! I hope I retry and see what happens in another two years!

Roots were well packaged and I had planted them about 2 weeks after they arrived. They do warn you not to expect blooms the first year, but I was really pleasantly surprised to have 2/5 bloom! The ones that did are a pretty pink (bowl of beauty) and a white pink (type unknown)
Cant wait for them to continue to mature! Really impressed!
I purchased several bulbs a couple of years ago and unfortunately only 3 of them took. But the ones that have bloomed are absolutely jaw dropping. Beyond my expectations in size and color. They’re so beautiful that I may just have to try to plant a few more and cross my fingers!
After planting my bare roots several years ago, this is the first year that they have all bloomed. I was very disheartened to see that all of the roots are the same type of peony. I do not recommend this product.

Hello Kat. Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re glad we were able to provide a resolution for you. We understand how disappointing it must have been to wait several years for blooms only to find that the varieties appeared the same rather as a true mix. After reviewing this issue, we found it was related to a small batch that had been prepacked by our grower, and the matter has since been corrected moving forward. Thank you for allowing us to make it right with you! We truly appreciate you bringing this to our attention, as feedback like yours helps us improve. We always stand behind our products and remain committed to helping our customers have successful and enjoyable growing experiences!
Sad issue with mold but plants are so strong and full!
I look forward to blooms next year, the issue was my location NOT the plants!
My husband surprised me with this last fall. I planted them a little late and my sister in law who has a green thumb told me not to expect to see much of anything for a few years. So excited because they are growing like crazy right now! And still early in the season. I’m not expecting blooms this year but just the foliage is looking amazing
I ordered this pastel mix in the spring of 2021, and the bridal bouquet mix that fall. This spring I finally had big beautiful blooms on all of the plants, and to my surprise they were not what I thought I was ordering. There were 5 different types between the 2 mixes (for 8 total plants), and I received 5 types-- two of which weren't listed on the mix contents! I received: The Shirley Temple (2), Koningin Wilhelmina (2), Sarah Bernadt (1) a surprise pure white one (1) which may be Duchesse de Nemours, and surprise candy stripe (2). This isn't the only weird order I received- I also ordered Cleopatra canna lilies last spring, and to my surprise I ended up with an all yellow variety with all-green foliage. So I'd like to say the lesson here is that if you want a specific variety, don't order a mix in hopes that it will be in there.... however, I did order a specific variety, and didn't get that either. So, just order a type of plant, and know that you'll get a healthy type of that plant, and keep in mind that gardening (and capitalism) is full of surprises?

They were easy to plant and bloomed the following spring. Hard to know where to plant them because you cannot tell the colors that were going to appear ahead of time. I liked that they were a variety of colors.
