I purchased two sets of 3 roots and gave away one set as a gift. The 3 roots I kept are not candy stripe at all, rather one white and two reds. I emailed customer service for a resolution and was ignored.

Store owner replied: Hello Jamie. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out about your experience. Striped or bi-color peonies, including varieties like 'Candy Stripe', can occasionally bloom in solid colors rather than their expected striped appearance. If your striped peony bloomed solid this year, it’s not necessarily permanent. After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. Thanks for your time in sharing your experience with us!
Like others, I ordered and planted in fall 2023. Got greens last year and three blooms this year, but not as pictured. I've had similar problems with dahlias I've ordered in the past so I've found other places to shop.

I planted this peony in 2023 (order #EB381827), and waited patiently for it to be mature enough to bloom. And this year, it did... only for me to find out that it was most definitely NOT "Candy Stripe," but a solid white peony that I was sent. It's a strong and healthy plant that was easy to grow, but because Eden Brothers got my order wrong, I can only give it one star.

I certainly did not get what I selected. I originally purchased 6 peonies, Candy Stripe being one. All but one died off in the fall of 2024 and I presumed they were dead. No flowers the summer of 2024 but that is normal. This spring. 2025 all flourished and bloomed but Candy Stripe did not resemble the advertised picture. It was a beautiful, double, white bloom with no bi-colour. I contacted Eden Bros. sending a picture and was told that sometimes it takes a couple of growth seasons for the plant to resemble the write up and advertised picture. My reply was simple. Why does your company not state that in Candy Stripe’s write up? Michelle, the contact I spoke with questioned her superior and the answer back certainly did not satisfy me. Because they had been purchased in the fall of 2023 they would no longer cover the warranty. Their PR (public relations), IMO was certainly lacking. When a company can’t put the customer first in a very minor situation one loses respect for that company.

I planted this in fall 2022. Spring 2023 and 2024, leaves grow, but there are no buds. Disappointing considering how expensive it is! I know it can grow in my area because I saw several planted in the ground at my local nursery today.

Received my Fall shipment a little later than I expected. Contacted Eden Brothers about viability of planting. They assured me it would be fine to plant even though our nighttime temperatures were freezing and below freezing, as long as the ground could be worked, which it could. I received three of these very expensive roots. The first I opened was impressive, and I was very happy with it's size and health, multiple eyes. The second I opened was smaller, one eye, but looked alive. The third was disappointing - very small - indistinguishalbe eye? I planted all three and will wait for Spring to see if they survive and grow. I will follow-up on the outcome. I wish I had taken pictures of the difference in these three roots to post with this review, but i didn't think of it at the time.

Love these peony roots! Planted late October/ early November 2022 and already have gorgeous blooms on 2 of the 3 roots planted! I have read not to expect blooms for a year or two, so we couldn't be happier! Highly recommend!

I went the extra mile with the candy stripe peony to have something special in my garden. Unfortunately, the division I got was not a good one, so it’s the only dead peony I have in the garden
