Yellow Stuttgarter Onion Sets (Long Day) produce two to three inch, high-yielding, flattened base bulbs with outstanding pungent flavor that’s delicious raw, sauteed, grilled, and cooked. This classic variety features a glossy brown skin and crisp yellow flesh, is easy to grow and highly nutritious, thriving in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Plant every inch for green table onions, thinning to three inches apart, allowing space for the larger bulbs to swell and mature. Harvest green onions at six inches tall; harvest storage onions when tops have fallen over naturally, usually in August or September.
