This was my first time growing hollyhock. Indian Spring bloomed dark and light pink. No burgundy or white. They were DELIGHTFUL to watch and some grew 10 ft! The bees were so happy.

Easy to grow from seed indoors in tall pots and transplanted beautifully; be careful though, the wild bunnies FEAST on them when they’re small

I started them indoors (68 degrees). The tray was put outside during the day. It's March now, and the highs of the past 10 days were between 55-77 degrees here in Oklahoma City (zone 7). I didn't use any commercial potting mix, but just got some soil from my background garden. On the 4th day, a couple of seeds started to germinate. After 10 days, 36 seeds has sprouted out of 50, and I see more seeds are ready to come out. I'm really happy about this, and looking forward to the summer! Thank you!

I had no luck with these seeds. No plants growing, no blooms.

Hollyhock Seeds - Indian Spring Mix

Store owner replied: Hello Allen J. Thank you for sharing your experience, and we are sorry you didn't have luck with this seed this time around. Hollyhocks generally establish best during cooler conditions, so a June planting in Zone 10 can be challenging as high soil temperatures and intense summer sun can cause the seedbed to dry very quickly. Consistent moisture is especially important during germination, while overly wet conditions can cause seeds to rot. For warmer climates, fall sowing is often a better option, allowing the plants to establish during cooler weather. Hollyhocks are typically biennial, although Indian Spring is an early-flowering variety that may bloom its first year under favorable conditions. I winter sowed these and they were absolutely beautiful and flowered in their first summer--I got pinks and white. They did best in the sunniest parts of my garden and easily grew to 5+ feet; I had to stake some and just wish I had a spot where I could grow these with a little more protection from wind. The bees absolutely loved them. Totally recommend and will definitely be planting again!

When it’s comes to purchasing good seeds, you can judge a book by its cover. Is the package damaged, flattened like they’ve been run over by a truck? Are your round seeds rolling around in the package like they are suppose to be? My Hollyhock arrived securely packaged and when you shake the packs, you can hear loud viable seeds within. They came in a water proof package with precise planting instructions, as if they written like from a page out of a Floriculture textbook. After inspection, the feeling of trust that my seeds were stored and shipped out under the utmost disease-free conditions became clear. Thank you!, Eden Brothers
