Cosmos Apricot Lemonade is as refreshing as a cold drink on a hot summer’s day. The dovetailed, peachy outer petals draw your eyes inward, past a ring of mauve and into the yellow center–you can imagine how this beauty seduces native pollinators with ease! One of the first cosmos to flower, this cultivar reaches about two feet tall when fully mature. Eden Brothers’ Cosmos Apricot Lemonade is lovely in the field, but if you can bear to cut a few stems, makes for a stunning arrangement in the vase.

First time growing cosmos, so maybe normal for them, but all 10 plants I grew produced tiny white flowers. Will try a different variety next time.

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Paige. Thank you for writing in about this. We are sorry your first experience growing cosmos didn't produce the beautiful colors you were expecting from Apricot Lemonade. Thank you for including a phot, as it helps us better understand what you're seeing. While seed-grown cosmos can naturally vary somewhat in color, and warm weather, intense sunlight, and bloom maturity can cause the softer tones to appear paler, Apricot Lemonade should generally display its characteristic blend of apricot, blush, and soft yellow tones. Having all 10 plants produce predominantly white blooms is not the result we would normally expect, so we've shared your experience with our Quality Control team for further review. We also reached out by email to offer a resolution but haven't heard back yet. We'd still very much like the opportunity to help, so please reply to our original email when you have a chance, and we'll be happy to assist. We stand behind our products and want our customers to receive the varieties and beautiful results they're looking forward to growing!
I didn’t bother to read the reviews because cosmos are so easy to grow and I didn’t imagine that the photos would be so incredibly misleading. They’re just pink. Kind of dirty pink, and they also sort of look wilty all the time and have a short lifespan. Not worth $8.

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Tinlizans. Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your cosmos did not match the appearance you were expecting. Cosmos can show some natural variation in flower color depending on the variety, genetics, and growing conditions, but they should generally resemble the expected appearance shown on the product page. Bloom color may also soften or fade as flowers age, and individual blooms are naturally short-lived, although healthy plants typically continue producing new flowers throughout the season. We have reported this to our quality control team to look into further. We reached out by email but haven't heard back yet. We'd still be happy to help, so please reply to our original email if you'd like to discuss the resolution options available to you. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and remain committed to providing quality products and helpful customer support!
These had a hint of brown I wasn’t prepared for. I was hoping for more peach but that could be my soil. They still didn’t disappoint.

There were only not so good reviews when I bought the seeds but I really wanted to see how this would turn out and it didn’t disappoint!! I only bought one pack and all the seeds flowered. I don’t need to yap the pictures will tell everything.
Sushi 5/5
I love these. They are not as light in color as the photos in the catalog (those are more pale yellow) but I still love their shades. In different lighting they take on different colors.

What a beautiful prolific bloomer!!
Kristin 5/5
While these survived the near drought conditions with ease, the color was not as expected. I was hoping for yellow with blushes of pink, they are all pink with little yellow splotches. Making the plants look like they are old before you even pick. These do have a good vase life. They are even blooming if the bud was mature when harvested. The germination rate for these was fairly poor, only 6 out of the packet sprouted. I did direct sow, so some may of been lost to birds but I don’t know. While they are pretty, they aren’t the color palate I was hoping for for this time of year.

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Ari. Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, as feedback like this helps us improve our products and plant expectations. We are learning that this variety can fluctuate in color depending on growing conditions. In hotter, drier weather, the softer apricot and yellow tones may fade, causing flowers to lean more pink with only small touches of yellow. This variation is normal for the variety, though we understand it being disappointing when the colors don’t match what you were hoping for. From our follow-up with Customer Service, it looks like we were able to offer you a resolution, and we’re glad we could help. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention!
I thought these were really beautiful and easy for a beginner like me. They did all kind turn out to be a pink color which was a little disappointing but I’d still buy them again.

I was very excited about the color combination in the photos and didn’t get any that look like that. That being said I do like the color more that the typical cosmo colors I see so I would order again! They’re cute and had an excellent germination percentage

I’m Zone 7 and planted these directly in ground in June and the blooms are stunning tones from deep pink with heavy apricot accents to lighter tones of the same. As a florist I adore the unusual tones and these do NOT disappoint!

Store owner replied: Hello Beth. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Eden Brothers! We truly value your feedback, as it helps us continue to improve and serve our customers better. We are actively looking into how to get better results with these beauties! Many customers are beginning to see the expected colors emerge as the plant matures.Temperature, soil type, sunlight intensity, and even day length can all influence petal color, causing blooms to appear more pink, peach, or yellow than the soft apricot tones shown in photos. Cooler weather often intensifies pink tones, while hotter conditions can wash colors lighter. We're happy to hear our Customer Service Team was able to assist you, and we appreciate the opportunity to make things right. Wishing you a successful and enjoyable rest of your growing season!
These cosmos have been such a beautiful surprise! They have TONS of buds, which is awesome as they don’t last a long time once opened. I love the color variations! Most of them were a much different pink than pictures online, which I why I took away a star. But some of them did have yellow/peach borders or lines and they were really beautiful. Great germination compared to the white knight variety I tried.

We learned a few things but ultimately this.cosmos.outnon a beautiful show of blooms. The first round of blooms came as traditional pink. As the season has progressed the blooms got more and more orangey yellow. Now on the third round, this cosmos is blooming very close to the photos. We also noticed that cosmos in full sun have more color variation than cosmos that are overshadowed by taller plants. I'm adding early photos and recent photos to show color graduation.
Ashley 4/5
While these grew incredibly well for me, the color is not as described. There is no variation in tone at all, they are all just the same shade of pink. Since customers choose new varieties based on photos, it’s important your product match what you show.

This was my first time growing flowers from seed. As a a beginning gardener, I was nervous that they weren’t going to grow. However, I had sheer excitement when these bloomed. They bloomed all summer long to the point that I was surprised that they kept going! I know there’s no guaranteeing what color the flowers will turn out as, but mine ended up looking like the display online. I couldn’t stop taking pictures of them.
Delaney 5/5 Verified
Although germination wasn't great, the plant that did take has been doing incredibly this summer. Color of the flowers isn't quite as pictured, but I definitely got some of the yellow in my blooms. I wouldn't say the bloom color is inaccurate based on the pictures. There is more yellow than what shows up in my photos.
Whitney 3/5 Verified
I was really excited to grow these as I have both pink and orange cosmos in my garden this year, and I felt this colour would have been the perfect transition flower. Unfortunately for me there was little to no yellow in most blooms, without a single bloom being more pink than yellow. Germination didn't go so well either, only appx 40-50% popped (which I know isn't terrible), but only about 1/2 of the successfully germinated seeds led to healthy plants with blooms. I am not a beginner gardener, and have been growing cosmos specifically from seed for many years now. Despite their beautiful photo, I would not recommend these as they did not match the photo at all. I have included a photo of one of the flowers to have some colour variation, and while very beautiful, you can see it's not the soft yellow/pink I was hoping.

I should have looked at the reviews before ordering. The germination was poor but I did eventually get 6 plants. Once established, they still took lots of watering but that’s to be expected in zone 8b. The color was the most disappointing since that was why I chose this one. The picture I included was the best they were.

I had no trouble with germination. I do have issue with the color of the flowers. Although they are beautiful, they are not an apricot lemonade and do not look like the flowers in the photos on the website. These are a light pink.

Now that the season is wrapping I’m going through my garden and Eden order and seeing what didn’t take. Sadly nothing from this packet or its similar apricota. The only Eden blooms I got to take were the very traditional pink cosmos, and those took a while to take off even.

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Erin. Thank you for your review and for letting us know. We are sorry that these cosmos varieties didn't grow as you had hoped. While cosmos are generally easy to grow, germination and establishment can be affected by soil temperature, moisture, planting depth, and weather conditions. We're glad your traditional pink cosmos eventually took off, but understand how disappointing it is when the others don't follow. Our quality control team is looking into this further. We are glad we found a resolution that worked for you, so you have a chance at these beauties again!
Followed all directions, not a single seed grew. Very disappointed!

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Catherine R. Thank you for sharing your experience. We understand how disappointing it was to follow the planting directions and not see a single sprout emerge, especially with one of our most popular Cosmos varieties. Cosmos enjoy warm conditions, but midsummer planting can mean the seedbed dries very quickly, and consistent moisture is especially important during germination. Planting too deeply, heavy rain washing or burying the seeds, overly wet soil, or soil crusting can also affect emergence. We are glad we were able to provide a resolution that you were happy with. We stand behind our products and are always here to help, and we hope your next planting brings you the beautiful Cosmos display you were looking forward to!
I sowed 2 packets of these directly and I to see starters and very few actually germinated.
Tiffany K. 2/5 Verified
Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Tiffany K. We are grateful you took the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that these cosmo seeds had low germination for you. Cosmos generally germinate best when sown in warm soil after the danger of frost has passed. In Zone 6, consistently warm temperatures, even moisture, and only lightly covering the seeds all help encourage good germination. Cool, wet spring conditions, allowing the seedbed to dry out during germination, or planting the seeds too deeply can all reduce emergence. We are glad we had the opportunity to help and appreciate your kind words about your other Eden Brothers purchases. We stand behind our products and hope you'll enjoy beautiful blooms in a future growing season!
I bought several cosmos and planted them all together. All of my other varieties germinated and have produced several blossoms except this variety. Because I mixed them I’m not sure if it was poor germination or they just bloomed the wrong color. I have no yellows, and none that have the ombré effect pictured. I have very bright pink/purple ones that look like from a different mix but that’s it.
Lizbeth S. 1/5 Verified
Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Lizbeth Sadauskas. We appreciate you bringing your experience to our attention. We are sorry to hear that this cosmos variety didn't produce the expected colors for you. Because cosmos are grown from seed, some natural variation in bloom color can occur. However, this variety should produce the characteristic blend of soft yellow tones with the subtle color transition shown in the product description. Since your planting was mixed with other cosmos varieties, it can be difficult to determine whether this variety had low germination or whether the blooms were not true to type. We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and are glad we could provide a resolution. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us monitor the quality of our products, and we hope you'll enjoy even greater success with your future Eden Brothers plantings!
It's July, I'm still hoping one of these that I planted magically appears. I was really excited for them.
Kim 1/5 Verified
Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Kim. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your Apricot Lemonade Cosmos never emerged. Cosmos are typically easy to grow and usually germinate within 7–14 days when planted in warm soil with consistent moisture, so by July you would normally expect to see well-established plants. A complete lack of germination can sometimes result from seeds being planted too deeply, the soil drying out after sowing, heavy rains washing the seeds away or causing soil crusting, or wildlife removing the seeds before they sprout. We are glad we had the opportunity to assist you and appreciate you working with our Customer Care team to reach a resolution. Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention, and we hope you'll have much better success with your next planting!

Cosmos Seeds - Apricot Lemonade
Store owner replied: Hello Aly. Thank you for sharing your experience with this variety. We are sorry to hear that the blooms did not display the soft apricot and pastel tones you were expecting and instead appeared much closer to a standard purple cosmos. While cosmos can occasionally show some natural variation from seed, especially with unique color strains, and cooler temperatures can sometimes deepen pink tones, the difference you described is greater than we would typically expect for this variety. After reviewing this issue, we did determine that there was an error affecting some packets, and we sincerely apologize that your packet appears to have been impacted. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, so it could be addressed. We previously reached out but have not yet heard back. If you would still like assistance, please respond to the original email or contact our customer support team so we can continue helping. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had repeated germination issues across multiple varieties, as we understand how frustrating that can be. These were absolutely beautiful all summer long and are still flowering. They seemed to get a second wind end of September and are still flowering prolifically at the end of October in zone 7B. Will definitely plant again.

Store owner replied: Hello Amy. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us at Eden Brothers. We understand how disappointing it can be when these flowers don’t bloom exactly as expected. We’re glad our Customer Service Team was able to assist you, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
I bought these and what a journey. So few seeds. 20. Hand planted them, babied them, and fertilized them. Weeded watered the whole nine yards. Couldn't wait for the gorgeous colors to come out. I planned my flower bed around the colors. They are stinking normal every day pink cosmo. Could have just got them at Home depot. All that love and attention and I was scammed. I bought blue hostas and not one seed took. Thought I was getting a root but got 15 seeds with no instructions on how to plant them. Don't spend money from these crooks. I can't begin to tell you how disappointed I am.
