I have a groundhog infestation. A mom and four kits. They are cute but hungry! And apparently they love asters. Despite the devastation, these keep groung back. I found some spray on stuff that seems to work, so maybe I'll get some blooms. You just can't seem to stop these asters!

Moving to a completely new planting zone I tried a lot of different plants, this one without a doubt one of the best performers. Soil conditions are definitely less than optimal (clay-heavy, rocky, fairly steep grade) and have just exploded into large mounds covered in flowers. The bees and butterflies are pleased (either that or the plants have learned to hum quite loudly!). Definitely happy with this purchase. I just wish they came in another shade for a bit of variety in my border without changing plants.

I was excited to get my aster roots. Evidently not resistant to others critters. Lesson learned…….put wire over newly planted roots regardless of what they are.
