About Black Eyed Susan Seeds - Chim Chiminee

Rhudbeckia hirta

Seed Type Open Pollinated Seed
Also known as Brown-Eyed Susan, Brown Betty, Gloriosa Daisy

Shaped like a chimney sweep’s broom, Black Eyed Susan Chim Chiminee is ablaze in bright orange, gold, bronze, and chocolate. We were thrilled at first sight of the quilled petals that splay out to create a ruffled texture much like the cartooned mane of a lion. A midsummer to early autumn favorite, Chim Chiminee is a must in the cutting garden and in borders for their rich, autumnal tones. Considered a self-seeder, this variety may overwinter but is most often grown as an annual in the cooler zones.
