Jumpstart next year’s garden with this diverse collection of 250 fall bulbs and perennials
What is the difference between fall bulbs and spring bulbs? It's easy...when you plant them! Fall is often associated with cleanup and the end of the growing season, but autumn is the perfect time to plant fall bulbs and perennials in the ground. These hardy plants will grow strong root systems over winter and will be among the first plants to begin growing again in the spring.
For many gardeners, the hardest weeks are late winter into early spring. It’s not easy to wait for the weather to break, and winter can be so bleak. So we eagerly anticipate the longer days and warmer temperatures, but there is much work to be done before we’ll start seeing seedlings sprouting and transplants flowering.
With fall bulbs and perennials, by early spring the work has already been done, and we have nothing left to do but enjoy these spring bloomers. Amaryllis, tulips, crocus, and many other fall-planted flowering plants, lift our spirits and encourage us to break our own period of dormancy and get outside in the garden.
Sourced from the freshest suppliers available, these fall bulbs and perennials can’t help but thrive anywhere
Fall flower bulbs and perennials naturally go together, producing hardy plants that need little attention. Whether you buy allium bulbs or hosta roots, you can rest assured that Eden Brothers sources the freshest bulbs and rootstock available, and our shipping team takes all the work of planning off your plate as we ship your fall bulbs and perennial rootstock at the appropriate planting time for your specific growing zone, sometime between August and October. We leave you with only one small task—the planting—and then you’ll be well on your way to enjoying refreshing bursts of spring color to break up the winter doldrums.
Plant fall flower bulbs in clusters for a dramatic pop of color and fragrance. This garden design will wow all visitors to your garden—human and insect alike. You can also plant fall flower bulbs and perennials individually or together in containers for a very present colorful display that accentuates any porch or patio.
Plant these bulbs in the field or a container and they’ll happily make a home. Change your mind later on in the season? No problem. Fall-planted roots and bulbs are easy to transplant—just make sure to dig them up and replant during a period of dormancy for best results.
Almost effortless to plant and even easier to care for, fall bulbs and perennials are perfect for beginning and master gardeners alike
Planting fall bulbs and perennials is incredibly easy, making these flowers just perfect for beginning (and young) gardeners. While some perennials have more detailed instructions (like the bearded iris, which needs a portion of its rhizome to sit above the soil), a good rule of thumb is to plant flower bulbs about three times as deep as they are tall. For most daffodil and tulip bulbs, that’s about six inches deep. If you have questions about planting instructions for specific fall flower bulbs and perennials, or want to know which bulbs will come back year after year, consult the planting guide on the product page.
With over 250 varieties of fall bulbs and perennials available at Eden Brothers, the hardest part will be deciding which varieties to grow! We have a few curated collections, like 60 Days of Tulips or the Re-Blooming Bearded Iris Mix, for those gardeners who have no idea where to start and are looking for the best value. For the rest, we suggest filtering our expansive fall bulb and perennial collection by the features tab on the left-hand side of this page. With this tool, you can search for perennial flowers by color or attribute. Designing your ideal garden has never been easier. Maintaining it is simple too! Learn how in our Flower Bulb Planting Guide.
