How to Plant Deer Resistant Mix
When to Plant Wildflowers
For Spring planting, it is best carried out within a month or so after the final frost of the winter season. It is important to not plant too early; if seeds are installed prior to a late-season frost, they will be lost for the season and will need to be are-seeded.
For Fall planting, make sure you plant the seeds after the first killing frost to eliminate any chance of germination. Planting in the Fall gives you a jump start on Spring blooms
Where to Plant Wildflowers
Though many wildflowers do tolerate some filtered shade, and a few actually thrive in it. The vast majority are definitely sun-lovers. Wildflowers will generally sprout in all but the most difficult conditions. This means that pampering your site with fertilizer or rich sod is not usually necessary.
How to Plant Wildflowers
Clear the area and work the soil as best you can before planting your seeds. Don't panic when some weeds sprout along with the flowers, this will happen when the soil is worked.
We recommend mixing your seeds with sand - 5 parts sand to 1 part seeds. This allows for a more even distribution and also provides a convenient way to mark which portions of the site have been seeded and which have not. For a smaller area, you can hand-broadcast the seeds. For larger areas, we recommend a seed spreader to create a better cast of the seeds.
After the seeds have been sown, lightly compress the seeds into the soil about 1/2" to protect from birds and wind.
How to Care for Wildflowers
Although Wildflowers are pretty easy to take care of, there are some steps to keep it looking beautiful. Regularly weed to ensure your wildflowers are getting the nutrients they need. Water your plants during dry spells. Deadhead blooms that are spend to encourage new growth.

Works great in TX Hill Country!
Planted last year and held my breath as the deer and feral hogs were having feasts in all yards. these seeds did great and bloomed for six months. They are now low and green preparing to start sprouting blooms this year!!!

4th year of GREAT flowers
This year was my 4th season/planting. I keep expanding the planting area each year. I love this mix. it is perfect for my 8700ft elevation yard located in the foothills of Denver. Deer and elk don't bother so I get to enjoy blooms along with the wildlife vs watching the deer/elk eating the blooms.
Thank you!

So Far, So Good
I am new to the mountain region of Southern Colorado so wanted to do a trial run on plantings this year. Chose to start with this mix and so far the plants are looking healthy and I am pleased. Put these seeds in large planter boxes on a huge retaining wall that we have to try to keep the access from wildlife to a minimum. Checked this morning when I watered and I have buds on some of the plants. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. Hoping for some color from the mix in the next few weeks.

Had my doubts, BUT!
When I ordered these "deer resistant " seeds, I have to admit that I had an eye brow raised concerning the validity of this claim. BUT,the deer agreed with this message! They have completely ignored these beauties! Hallelujah! I can enjoy both the deer and the flowers! I'm ready to take another chance with this product in a back pasture.

Deer resistant wildflowers are terrific
The deer resistant wildflower seeds are terrific. Each season or location different wildflowers come up, making them fun to watch. Foxgloves and lupines right now. A great solution instead of weeds. I will keep buying them!

Works well
We have deer. Oh boy, do we have deer. We have large herds and are surrounded on three sides with forest. We planted the deer resistant mix over the septic field last year to crowd out the crabgrass. The display is gorgeous even the first year, and we will be planting more in the front. All winter, central Virginia, the plants stayed green. A few deer come and sniff around it sometimes in late winter, but so far there is no indication of any damage. Would add, if you have a sever deer problem, some aromatic herbs like rosemary, fennel etc, just to cover for the flowers when they die back a bit in deep winter. Since the septic field is unfortunately all we see, other than the tree line, from our living room, we really love seeing the flowers. Also, this moisture does a wonderful job of attracting butterflies, bees, and we think - hummingbirds. I am buying another five pounds or so this spring.
