How to Plant Zin Master Mix
When to Plant Zinnia Seeds
Zinnias are best started directly outdoors in locations where spring warms up early. Keep in mind that Zinnias are native to Mexico, where they have become accustomed to long, hot summers. They are classed as tender annuals and can be directly sown into the garden after all danger of frost is over and daytime temps are at least 50F and above. In cooler climates, start seeds indoors 4 to 6 weeks before your area’s average last-frost date. Harden off the plants by vacationing trays outside for a few hours per day before planting them in your garden.
Where to Plant Zinnia Seeds
Choose a spot that has full sun. Zinnias can thrive in a wide array of well-draining soil conditions.
How to Plant Zinnia Seeds
Turn over the soil in the area you want to plant your zinnias and work in 2 or 3 inches of compost or peat moss to help improve soil fertility and drainage. Plant the seeds only about ¼” – ½” deep and you should see seedlings sprout in four to seven days. Once the seedlings reach about 3” tall, thin them to maximize air circulation, and prevent powdery mildew. The dwarf varieties, reaching a height of 1 to 1 ½ feet, should be planted or thinned to about 9” apart, while the taller 3-feet varieties should be spaced about 1 foot apart.
If starting your zinnias indoors, fill up your pots with organic potting mix. Saturate the potting mix with water and then place two zinnia seeds into each planting cell or pot. Press into the soil for good seed-to-soil contact and then cover with approximately ½” of the potting mix.
Place your zinnias in an area that will receive plenty of warmth (65-70F) and light. Keep your zinnia seeds moistened, checking on them every day or two. Expect to see germination in about 7 to 10 days. Once your seedlings reach about 2 ½ - 3” tall, they are ready to be transplanted outdoors.
Zinnias may be transplanted with ease, as it is possible to move the plants when they are in full flower! Although they thrive best in full sun, they will also endure partial shade.
How to Care for Zinnias
Water the area of your zinnia plants carefully, do not get the stems or leaves wet since zinnias are prone to mildew. Keep your zinnia garden lightly moistened, and let the area dry out between watering. The beauty of zinnias is that you can spend your attention elsewhere while they bloom profusely summer to autumn.

I planted these for the first time in early spring and they started to bloom here in middle TN several weeks ago. I can't possibly describe how beautiful they are. The variety, quality, and quantity is incredible. So so so pleased.
Zin Master Flowers
The zinnias bloomed all summer and into the fall 2019. Stunning arrangement of colors. Birds/Bees/Butterflies loved them. Even a rabbit moved into the garden and had babies among the zinnias. Very hardy and long lasting.
We'd pulled up all the existing plants below our front windows but still wanted summer color. We got a full pallet of blooms in all forms! Everyone who has come to our door has commented on this outstanding display! Thanks, Eden Brothers!
Ordered from this company last year and didn’t really know what I was doing yet....had awesome results. Planted the Zin Master this year for about 400 sq. ft of beds and they are turning out awesome so far. Will definitely be ordering more next year, thinking about mixing in some of their comso seeds.
Eden brother never fails !!!! In love in love
This seeds were amazing ....
Wow, planted along a chain link fence and these zinnias to the trick. Beautiful display. I will plant again next year..
Spectacular and Stunning
Wow! I’ve bought Zinnia and other seeds from Eden Brothers and have always been thrilled each time. They arrive on time, the ordering process is super easy and the planting is now a group effort at my condo associaton every Spring! All other neighbors are encouraged to cut bouquets all season long and we all enjoy the flowers from first blooms until heat of summer takes them. 110% Happy In Memphis !
Planted these in late June and they were in full bloom for the monarchs in August and September. Our patches of zinnias were about 5 feet by 50 feet. The biggest splash of color we have ever seen. Amazing seeds and flowers! Also attracted all kinds of bees, and goldfinches. Beautiful cut flowers for inside!
These seeds are amazing! I planted them and within 3 days they sprouted and they are growing super quick. From now on I will only purchase seeds from Eden Bros. The little packets from grocery store and hardware store are such a waste because they take forever to sprout and most of the seeds didn't even germinate. I can't wait to see the flowers. Thank you Eden Bros for a great product!
I would highly recommend this product. My patch is beautiful! I can't want to see it continue to burst color...
Planted late due to the weather. When planted the seeds were sprouting in just a couple of days. Thanks for the great seed, will purchase again next year!
My husband harrowed first, waited for weeds to come up and then sprayed the weeds with roundup before slinging the seed out by hand. He then drove over the area until he had wheel tracks everywhere. After several rains we have an excellent stand (so very high germination rate). I am very satisfied.
Very Happy in 3 Regions of GA
I shared the seeds with a friend in Mid-GA and my sister in South GA. We are all 3 very happy with the seeds. They are growing nicely and we'll have zinneas all over. Thanks for asking.
My package of seeds arrived quickly, just in time for me to give away as a Spring promotional gift for my business. The seeds are clean, without debris, and ready to plant. Thank you.
Arrived on time. The seeds were for a gift, I have planted a few to test saw results in 3 days. Easy to maintain.
Nature's law dictates the germination rate cannot be greater than 100% - however, I believe this law may have been broken in this case!
Bring on the Sunshine
I planted these and simply love the mix. I can walk out and enjoy several different varsities. They make beautiful cut flowers for the vase.
Quick and Reasonable
I have purchased from other vendors. The bulk seed is what we need, it is reasonably priced (which is unusual) and the delivery was very quick. Let you know later on the results...using the zinnias to border our perennial wildflower beds.
Zin master zinnia seeds
I planted the seeds and they have sprouted beautifully! I cannot wait to see them bloom! Highest quality available And great prices, too!
3rd year I buy these!
This is my 3rd year buying these. Every summer, I am anxiously waiting to see the result of my mass planting. We plant these on a roughly 8' wide x 20' long piece of land in the back of our house and seed pretty heavily. I have never been disappointed. The show is every time spectacular. Best of all, there is very little work involved! Love this mix. The name is pretty cool too.
We buy this mix every year, and plant it along the fence in front of our house. It comes up wonderfully, and it absolutely beautiful. It lasts all summer, and attracts all kinds of butterflies and sometimes other wildlife. It doesn't take much maintence- just some weeding, mostly when they're tiny- and we water ours with a soaker hose when it's very hot and dry.
Wall of flowers
I planted a 100 ft bed of these along my fence as a back drop for my daughters wedding last summer. The wedding was in August and some of the zinnias were 5 foot tall. We used cut zinnias on all the tables as well. All the guests raved about the beautiful flowers.By the end of the season the flowers ranged in height from 6 inches to 7 feet tall. A true wall of flowers.
I planted these last summer, probably not until mid or late June. They sprouted very quickly and I had the most amazing display of zinnias you can imagine. My neighbors were wowed, and I was cutting flowers for inside arrangements and gifts well into the fall. I'm planting Lilliput mix this year, and in less than a week they have sprouted. I can't wait to see how these turn out.
i planted late and the results were unbelievable. Had deer problem with sunflower but not a problem at all with the zinnias and the deer resistant mix. KUDOS
The name cracks me up and the results have been great. Hoping they re-seed themselves. I will let you know.
