Every organic pepper seed from the sweetly mild to spicy hot

Whether you love hot peppers for eating or for landscaping, you can finally grow your favorite hot pepper varieties from organic seed!

No vegetable garden is complete without the organic heirloom variety, Anaheim Chili. These plants produce abundant harvests of mildly spicy fruits that mature from yellow-green to scarlet red. Pick organic Anaheim chili peppers at any stage, with the best-tasting fruits reaching around seven inches in length.

Organic Ancho Poblano peppers are a little spicier than Anaheim chili peppers but don’t have as much heat as jalapenos. A versatile Mexican heirloom variety commonly used to make chile rellenos and mole, organic Ancho Poblano Peppers are easy-to-grow productive plants.

If you prefer just a little more heat, you’ll love the organic Jalapeno Early Hot Pepper. Jalapenos are a medium-hot pepper but their heat diminishes with cooking. Organic Jalapeno Early are perfect for cooler climates and shorter growing seasons, as they mature in two to three months from transplanting.

Organic Cayenne Long Thin Peppers are significantly hotter than jalapenos, enhancing any dish with a spicy, smoky flavor. These heirloom chiles are not for the faint of heart, but they are a versatile chile perfect for canning, drying, or pickling.

For those that like to suffer and those who can’t get enough heat, consider the organic Habanero Orange Hot Pepper. The orange fruits are small but mighty, even hotter than cayenne chiles–so proceed with caution! These productive heirloom peppers are popular in salsas, and even if you don’t love the heat habaneros make for a gorgeous ornamental plant.

Organic hot pepper seeds are easy to grow

Organic hot peppers aren’t difficult to grow, but starting these varieties from seed does take some patience. These tropical plants require heat to germinate, and even the most viable seeds can take several weeks to germinate, so start hot pepper seeds indoors about eight weeks before your area’s last spring frost date to ensure a long and productive season.

Wait to transplant pepper seedlings outside until the soil has warmed up to at least 65 degrees. Organic hot pepper plants are happiest in well-draining soils and in locations that receive at least six hours of direct sunlight a day. Give your hot pepper plants about an inch of water a week, and that’s all the care they will need! All of these heirloom organic hot pepper seeds will also thrive in containers.

The more you harvest, the more productive your organic hot pepper plants will be! So even if you don’t love spicy chiles, find a friend who does to get the most out of your plants.
